Carol Weitzman, M.D.

is a Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician and the Co-Director of the Autism Spectrum Center at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard School of Medicine and Director of the CT Center for Developmental Pediatrics.  She is a Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics at the Yale School of Medicine and while at Yale was the Director of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) and oversaw the fellowship training in DBP.  Nationally, she is the president of the Society for Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics, (SDBP), the past-chair of the SDBP program committee, and the immediate past chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Section of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics. Dr. Weitzman is the author of the AAP Clinical Report “Promoting Optimal Development: Screening for Behavioral and Emotional Problems,” which is undergoing revision this year.  Dr. Weitzman is involved in a number of activities within the American Academy of Pediatrics and Association of Pediatric Program Directors related to developing curriculum promoting emotional and behavioral well-being of children and families.  She is a member of the American Board of Pediatrics Sub-Board.  Dr. Weitzman has served as the PI or site PI on a number of federal grants including fellowship training grants from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau and an NIMH grant to reduce disparities in identifying children at risk for Autism Spectrum Disorder.   Dr. Weitzman has attended COR groups for more than 25 years and developed iiCOR, which is funded by the Maternal Child Health Bureau, and is designed to bring together a diverse group of professionals  across disciplines and across the world who are interested in the developmental, emotional and behavioral health of children and families.   It is her hope that iiCOR will create a large community around the world who can share information and expertise about the pressing issues facing vulnerable children and families.  

Heidi M Feldman, PhD, MD

is the Ballinger-Swindells Endowed Professor of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University. As a board-certified Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician, she remains active in clinical service. Her research interests focus on child language, developmental disabilities, and developmental-behavioral pediatrics health services. Her recent research studies address the neural basis of cognitive and behavioral outcomes of preterm birth. Dr. Feldman has been very active in education, training, and mentoring. She has taught undergraduate courses, designed medical school required classes and elective courses, precepted residents and fellows in clinic, and delivered continuing medical education seminars and workshops to national and international audiences. She has served as PI on several federal training grants, including a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities grant to the University of Pittsburgh, General Pediatrics Training Grant to the University of Pittsburgh, and fellowship training grants from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and to Stanford University. She has served in national leadership roles including the President of the Society for Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics.  She is extremely proud to have received the C. Anderson Aldrich Award of the American Academy of Pediatrics for contributions to the field of child development.
